Lagos Ignite Employability & Enterprise

The Ignite Project is an initiative of Afterschool Graduate Development Centre (AGDC) in partnership with the Lagos State Government (LASG). It is a series of youth capacity development programs specifically targeted at graduate employability and enterprise trainings, with the overall agenda of building up a skilful and competent workforce for organizations within Lagos state and across Nigeria. As well as raising indigenous entrepreneurs with the capacity to become employers of labour in the near future. It also involves the provision of access funding for start-ups, creation of enterprise parks and formation of more business clusters to increase economic activities and foster rapid economic development in the state. The achievement of these project goals would reduce unemployment and poverty in the country as it would encourage local production and talent sourcing, decrease Nigeria’s dependence on imports and increase the country’s value offering, in terms of commodity/resource exchange with other countries in Africa and the rest of the world.
